I-LAND

Can 20 youngsters fight in the battle of their lives to debut with a new debut K-pop idol group produced by Hybe Entertainment? Who will rise to the challenge?

This is a reality tv show which follows a competition called “I-LAND” which is held by Hybe or previously known as Big Hits Entertainment in Korea. They are the same agency that global sensation BTS is part of. There are a series of high-pressure tests in this show which determine who can handle being an idol and who isn’t the right fit for the debuting new K-pop idol group called “ENHYPHEN”.

I loved and hated this reality TV show in equal measures. I loved it since it is a pretty good watch and keeps you hooked till the very end and the passion showed by the participants towards their goals is admirable. However, I hated it because I disliked the fact that such young guys were put under so much pressure and stress just because of a show. So, overall, it was a 50-50 for me. But, if you enjoy competitions that keep you hooked till the very end and want to be part of the journey of a new K-Pop group right from the beginning, then this is your chance to get started. Overall, I would say go for it, since it’s quite an inspiring watch!

The originality of the plot: This is a reality TV show, so plot is out of the question, or is it?

Acting of main protagonists: I loved the passion shown by these youngsters towards reaching their dream.

Ending: A new K-Pop group “ENHYPHEN” gets formed!
