Unchained Love
When a man who is hell-bent on revenge meets a woman who only wants to live a carefree love, will their mutual distrust turn to love?
This drama follows the life of a man who has risen through the ranks in the kingdom because he is hell-bent on revenge on people who killed his brother. When he is forced to save a woman on the request of the useless prince, who he intends to use for his endgame, he is shocked to find that the woman is not as simple as she looks. In fact, they instantly distrust and dislike each other. However, the more they interact and get to know each other, the more they understand each other. Will this distrust ever turn to love? Will they find happiness in such a complicated world of palace politics? Watch to find out!
Frankly, this story started off as incredibly promising. But, the more it progressed, the less sense the plot made. I felt like the shift of the male lead from disliking the female lead and being apprehensive of her true motives, to suddenly liking her was quite jarring. It felt a little illogical. Also, the obsession of the prince was creepy as hell. However, if I still ignore that, what I absolutely couldn’t ignore was the fact that even though the ending was happy, it left almost every other sub-plot within the story incomplete. It felt like the leads, who wanted to make a change in the world and sacrificed so much for it, suddenly ran away in the end. All of their previous actions in retrospect felt irrelevant and stupid. So, for me, this was a plot that could have been great but fell short of its potential because of the way it developed meaninglessly. However, if you are a fan of the leads like I was and want to give it a try, you may, but beware that you might be just as disappointed as me in the end. I will leave the decision upto you.
