The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty

When three completely different officials put their heads together to solve rampant corruption in 15th Century China, will they succeed in fighting for justice and their country?

This drama revolves around the lives of three officials in 15th-century china, who are polar opposites in every way. One of them is a genius detective who in spite of being extremely sharp is not promoted due to his youth. The second official is the head of a ruthless fighting force for the king who is feared widely for his nature of doing anything to achieve justice. The third official is an eunuch who is very close to the king and holds unimaginable power in the country while helping the king manage his rule. When the king notices that corruption cases have been running rampant in the country, he assigns the case to the trio. How these three officials put their heads together to reveal one mystery after another, in order to unveil the real culprit behind it all, forms the rest of the story.

Among historical fiction, this drama is my all-time favorite. This drama has fascinating characters, with the incredible character development of not just the main characters, but also the side characters. Frankly, it’s a treat to watch. I loved the storyline, the actors, the cinematography, and the direction of the drama. If you enjoy murder mysteries solved by genius detectives, then you will love this one! It has everything from comedy, romance, and mystery, to action, in equal bouts. I recommend that you put this drama on your next watch list asap.
