The Legend of Zhuohua

When an ambitious woman who does not want to marry meets the selfless, fierce general, are they meant to be in love or at war?

This drama follows the life of a woman who may be the daughter of the richest man in her town but has always been treated badly since childhood. She has hardly ever been shown any kindness by her family, and it’s the last straw for her when they decide to marry her off to an old, rich man. So, she changes her name and escapes the town with her trusty maid and decides to become an official in the capital. However, life hardly ever goes as what we expect. On reaching the capital, she crosses path with the most fierce general of their time and thus starts a battle of wills. She is hell-bent on keeping her secret and becoming an official. He is hell-bent on finding out what she is hiding. In the backdrop of palace politics, will these two make love or war? Watch to find out!

My Review….

I loved this drama. I would say this drama is right on the same list as dramas such as “Under The Power” and the “Imperial Coroner”. I loved the fact that the female lead was intelligent and strong and never gave up on her dreams till the end. What I was most impressed by was that the storyline that showed a fierce general who could love her enough to not stand in the path of her dreams. Their relationship was a delight to watch from the beginning till the very end. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy much about this story was that the palace politics was kind of redundant, and the so-called “evil” person’s sub-plot seemed a little forced and out of place. Even if they left that out of the drama, it would still have been a good watch. Also, if you love the actor from “You are Desire”, then you might not like that he is a side character in this story. He doesnt have much of a backstory and his character is okayish at best. However, the main couple is so good that I just kept watching till the end anyway. So, if you are someone who enjoys watching historical romance stories, you can definitely give this one a try!
