My Roommate is a Gumiho

Will a 999-year-old Gumiho who desperately wants to be human again, lose his chance to regain humanity when he meets and falls for a woman?

This drama revolves around the life of a 999-year-old Gumiho. A Gumiho is a nine-tailed fox in ancient mythology. In this story, the Gumiho has cultivated energy for as long as he has lived and stored it in a bead. Once he reaches, the 1000-year mark, he would finally have a chance to become human again. All of his carefully laid plans get messed up when he accidentally kisses a human, and she ingests the bead. The rest of the story follows how he tries to get the bead back with hilarious results and eventually ends up falling for the very human who has the potential to thwart all his carefully laid plans.

Personally, I liked the drama. The character of the female lead is hilarious and the actress who plays this role, pulls it off beautifully. As for the main lead, he is a very diligent actor, but in this drama, his character is a little too stoic for my liking. However, he does pull that off with grace as well. This review would be incomplete without talking about the second male lead. He is a character that I hated and loved at the same time. He is a character that you would hate in the beginning but grow fond of, once you get to know him better. Overall, it’s a hilariously good watch.

Story Line: 9.3/10

The originality of the plot: The plot is kind of different to previous dramas which have a similar nine-tailed fox concepts. Though, the plot does have logical loopholes in places but, if you avoid the logic, it’s still a fun watch!

Acting of main protagonists: The chemistry between the leads is quite good.
