Eight Hours
Will two rivals, who try to one-up each other, be able to resolve their feelings in time to save each other?
This story follows the life of a woman who is well known in her field as a champion and hard to defeat rival. She is constantly pitted against the CEO of an AR-based gaming company, who is a competitive gamer himself. However, over the years they have developed a hidden camaraderie. When he suddenly has an accident and is found comatose, she is shocked to see his consciousness trapped in the very game that he has developed. Trying to get out of the game alive, he teams up with her to fight for his life, both inside and outside the game. Will their partnership be enough to save his life or will their opponents win a much larger game of life and death?
The beginning of this story was pretty damn intriguing. I found myself wanting to see what happens next. However, as the episode hit somewhere near 15, the story seemed to drag unnecessarily. Conspiracy plots, unwanted romance subplots, and confusion in relationships became its central theme. This was a huge turn-off for me, since I prefer stories that may be fantastical but follow some logic or order in the end. The plot seemed all over the place and I literally wanted to skip 10-15 episodes to see what the ending was. This drama has a sweet romance between the leads, but apart from that, it fails to develop on the promising premise that it started off with. Overall, this was such a big letdown. If you want to watch competitive gaming, I suggest you try dramas such as “Gank Your Heart” or “Falling for you”. Those are much better developed than this one. Though they are not AR-based games, still they are pretty good. Honestly, I would say you can skip the plot and only watch the romance if you really wanted to stream this one. I leave the decision up to you.
