Coffee Prince

When the directionless heir of a conglomerate meets a hardworking tomboy and mistakes him for a man, will they find love and more?

This story follows the life of a woman who is a tomboy and is the only breadwinner of her family. She is a taekwondo expert and is often mistaken for a man. When she crosses path with the heir of a conglomerate and he mistakes her for a man, and hires her, chaos ensue. Their lives get more complicated when she meets another man and develops somewhat of a crush on him. He however, is in love with someone else. Disheartened, she continues working for the heir and develops a strong friendship with him. Will she realize that their friendship is maybe more than just friendship? Will he find direction in his life and turn his life around and find true love? Watch to find out!

I had mixed feelings about this one. The love story was good, but this was a drama which released in early 2007, as a result, it had a lot of notions prevalent during that time. The idea of normalizing the pressure men put on women to live life the way men want and if women are career-oriented then they are flighty and not serious was quite prominent in the early stages of this story. However, the story evolved and so did the characters. In the latter half, they matured and became a better version of themselves. But, some issues with the relationships shown were consistent throughout. The male lead was often hot and cold, and the female lead seemed way too submissive at times. Similar problems arose with the second couple. Their relationship was frankly toxic, and the idea of forgiving a cheating partner is personally unacceptable to me. So, I stand behind my review. The story was not bad, but this was not the best romance story that I have seen out there. I will leave the decision up to you about whether you want to stream it or skip it.
