Arsenal Military Academy

Will young recruits of the military academy ever grow up enough to be able to survive the bitter realities of ongoing military conflicts around them?

This drama revolves around the lives of the young male recruits at a military academy in the backdrop of the war between the Chinese military forces and the Japanese Imperial army. One young recruit among them, though, is pretending to be male. She takes the place of her brother in the academy and trains to become a soldier to help her country. How these young men and women put their heart and soul into saving their people and country and maybe find love for themselves somewhere along the road, is what forms the rest of the story.

Personally, I loved the story. It had action, romance and historical conflicts in equal bouts. Even though the drama had some moments where the story felt a little slow, watching the determination of the young recruits to make something of themselves and fight for what is right, was quite inspiring. I also loved the plot and character development of everyone. Right from the naive female lead, to the aloof male lead, to the funny side characters, all of them grew up with the story and started becoming a more mature version of themselves. Overall, if you enjoy a heartfelt romance in the backdrop of historical conflicts and people willing to fight for their loved ones, then you would truly enjoy this story.
